Hi,
It’s been
my observation that most people don’t want to shake up their life by moving
often nor do they seek out uncomfortable or demanding lifestyles. Living on a
boat has the potential to be just that. When you stumble across someone who
loves the ocean while seeks out that life …. You could call them an odd duck…
or simply a liveaboard….
So, being a liveaboard. It’s not your
average apartment or daily commute….. I am currently in the midst of moving
onto a 424 Pearson, ketch of the ’79 vintage.
She’s no lightweight sleek racing boat for the harborrats…. She’s the
kinda modified full keel gal that can get in the high seas and have some fun. I’m becoming
intimate with a 42 foot fiberglass haul with two masts and a whole lot of
things I never even knew had to be fixed. This project, this beautiful
mistress, her name, is Gaia and you can see her happily floating in Boston
harbor….for now.
That said…
this is a blog of a sailor, a hiker, a climber, an accountant, an economist, a
blue-eyed callused feet avid mosquito hunter. You could label me all sorts of
great honorable names but frankly, I just hope my curious nature and first hand boat-learning curves/dramas
lend you some entertainment , something to relate to, or possibly give you insight
on your very own possibilities.
